We’re proud to share that &grain was recognized by New Jersey Monthly in its annual Jersey Choice Restaurant Poll, earning a critics’ pick in the Soup | Salad | Sandwich category.

For a neighborhood bakery and cafe in Garwood, NJ, recognition like this means a lot. Bread has always been central to what we do, but what comes out of the bakery is only the beginning.

Fresh Bread Meets a Full Lunch Menu

Our sandwich menu starts with bread baked at &grain, including baguette, ciabatta, pain de mie and 5-grain varieties.

From there, sandwiches such as the Apple Baguette, Harvest Turkey Club, Chicken Pesto and Prime Rib bring together ingredients like organic greens, local applewood smoked bacon, house-made spreads, cheeses and roasted vegetables.

That same approach carries into our salads. The Apple Salad combines organic arugula with shaved apples, bleu cheese and candied walnuts, while the Roasted Beet & Carrot Salad features herbed goat cheese, house-made pickled red onions and organic mixed greens.

Our soup selection changes, giving customers another option for lunch in Garwood alongside sandwiches, salads and quiche.
